1. Beaufort Homes for the Holidays Tour

Each of these homes will be decked out for the holidays by local talented designers and florists. The home dates back to 1790 and was occupied by the Union army during the war. Take a step back in time when you look at the marble fireplace, where Union soldiers scratched their signatures many years ago. 

2. Annual Night on the Town Holiday Celebration

Each December, Beaufort kicks off the holiday season with the annual Night on the Town Holiday Celebration. This event takes place in the streets of Downtown Beaufort, which are closed to traffic to accommodate wandering pedestrians. During the event, you’ll be able to watch the tree lighting ceremony, start on your Christmas shopping in the local shops, and enjoy live entertainment by community organizations, local schools, and more. Plus, Santa Claus himself will be making an appearance to take photos with families!

3. Beaufort’s Annual Christmas Parade

The Beaufort Christmas Parade is a beloved tradition that takes place in historic Beaufort. You’ll be dazzled by the beautifully decorated floats, marching bands, and golf clubs as they roll by. 4. Festival of Trees

Here in the Lowcountry, we typically don’t have the pleasure of having a snowy holiday season. For more than 30 years, the Festival of Trees has been a beloved Christmas tradition that brings a real-life snow day to Downtown Beaufort. Experience the winter wonderland and build snowmen, have snowball fights, get your face painted, and more! Over 60 gorgeously decorated trees will be put on display and offered for purchase. There will also be tickets for some incredible raffle prizes, food, drinks, and more available during the event.

5. Light Up the Night Holiday Boat Parade

Light up the night with this illuminated display of decorated boats sailing up the Beaufort River. The night of the parade, you’ll find the first boats arriving near the seawall at Henry C. Chambers Waterfront Park at 6 pm. Throughout the night, they’ll make several passes to ensure everyone gets to enjoy the parade! You’ll have a blast as you sip hot chocolate by the waterfront and cheer on your favorite boat. 

6. Gullah Kinfolk Christmas Wish

A 13-minute walk from the Cuthbert House Inn. 

This full-stage Yuletide musical has become a cherished holiday tradition at the University of South Carolina-Beaufort Center for the Arts. From the foot-stomping to the singing to the dancing, this production is sure to bring you holiday cheer. The story takes place in December of 1860—the last Christmas before the Civil War. The characters bring the history of the Sea Islands and historic Beaufort to life. 

7. Gingerbread 5K

A 10-minute drive from the Cuthbert House Inn. 

The annual Gingerbread 5K is a family-friendly fun run/walk through the streets of nearby Port Royal. As you race through the gorgeous Old Village, you’re sure to feel the holiday spirit. Holiday-themed costumes are encouraged, so be sure to wear your best Santa or elf attire! Afterward, celebrate your accomplishments by roasting some s’mores by the crackling fire.

8. Parris Island Marine Band Holiday Concert

If you’re a music lover, this melodic event is perfect for you. Each year the Parris Island Marine Band performs a holiday concert where they sing a variety of seasonal favorites. This show is a free event!
